According to trademark filings by Amblin Entertainment, the title of Jurassic World 4 has potentially been revealed.
The seventh film in the Jurassic franchise is set to be titled Jurassic World: Rebirth, as Amblin has filed for the name for a variety of products. The title ties in with the previous news that we’re heading into a new era of the franchise as previous stars are left behind. That’s unsurprising, given the general disdain for the bloated Jurassic World Dominion.
The Creator and Godzilla filmmaker, Gareth Edwards, will direct Jurassic World 4. Not too much is currently known about the movie other than the fact it will be a brand new one separate from the Chris Pratt-starring entries. It’s officially described as “a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island.”
It’s being pushed as a new era for the franchise, so hopefully it will also move away from the Jurassic Park entries as well.
Who stars in Jurassic World 4/Jurassic World: Rebirth?
Jurassic World: Rebirth will feature an all new cast to facilitate that new era. Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Infinity War) leads the cast with Jonathan Bailey (Wicked), Rupert Friend (A Simple Favor), Mahershala Ali (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Manuel Garcia-Ruffo (6 Underground), Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda.
Lead Scarlett Johansson expressed her excitment at finally getting a role in the franchise in an interview last month.
“I’m an enormous Jurassic Park fan,” Johansson said in an interview with Comicbook.com. “It’s one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”
“I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years,” Johansson added. “I’m like, ‘I’ll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I’ll do the craft service!’ I’ll do anything for it. The fact that it’s happened in this way at this time just is actually unbelievable. I can’t believe it.”
Jurassic World 4/Jurassic World: Rebirth will be in theaters on July 2, 2025.
