The new Jurassic World movie has cast David Iacono.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, The Summer I Turned Pretty star David Iacono has joined the cast of Gareth Edwards’ forthcoming Jurassic World movie.
The rest of the cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, and Luna Blaise. Production is expected to begin later this month.
Iancono played Cam Cameron in Amazon Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, which aired its second season in July 2023. A third season is currently in the works and is expected to be released in 2025.
He’s also known for playing David the Demon in Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives series and had a minor, uncredited role in 2019’s Joker. He’ll soon be seen in Fear Street: Prom Queen alongside India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor, and Katherine Waterston.
What else do we know about Universal’s new Jurassic World movie?
Plot details for the new Jurassic World movie remain under wraps at this time. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to reprise their respective roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, while Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill are also not expected to return.
The script for the film was written by David Koepp. Prior to Edwards, The Fall Guy’s David Leitch was briefly attached to direct the film but stepped away due to creative differences. Edwards is known for directing 2010’s Monsters, 2014’s Godzilla, 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and 2023’s The Creator.
Steven Spielberg (who directed both 1993’s Jurassic Park and 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park) will executive produce the movie through Amblin Entertainment, while Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley serve as producers.
The new, still-untitled Jurassic World movie releases in United States theaters on July 2, 2025.
