The cast of the new Jurassic World movie is continuing to expand.
Per Deadline, Luna Blaise has been tapped to join the cast of Universal’s upcoming Jurassic World movie. It is not immediately clear who she’ll be playing.
She’ll join Scarlett Johansson, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend in the film, which is being directed by Gareth Edwards.
Plot details for the new Jurassic World movie remain under wraps at this time. The last Jurassic World movie, Jurassic World Dominion, was released in 2022 and made approximately $1.004 billion at the global box office.
Blaise is best known for playing Olive Stone in Manifest, which premiered on NBC in 2018. The series was initially canceled by NBC after three seasons; although, Netflix made a fourth and final season of the series that premiered in November 2022.
She additionally played Nicole in Fresh Off the Boat and has starred in movies such as 2015’s Memoria and 2023’s Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
What else do we know about the new Jurassic World movie?
The script for the new Jurassic World movie was written by David Koepp. According to Deadline, the film will be a “fresh take” that won’t see Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their respective roles from the previous Jurassic World movies. Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill are also not expected to return.
Steven Spielberg is executive producing the movie through Amblin alongside Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley for Kennedy-Marshall.
Before Edwards was announced as the director, David Leitch was previously in talks to helm the film. Edwards’ filmography includes 2010’s Monsters, 2014’s Godzilla, 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and 2023’s The Creator.
The new Jurassic World movie releases in United States theaters on June 2, 2025, from Universal.
