Knives Out 3: Sherlock Star Andrew Scott Joins Wake Up Dead Man Cast

Andrew Scott has joined the cast of the third Knives Out movie, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Per Variety, Scott has officially been tapped to star in Wake Up: Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. He’ll join Challengers’ Josh O’Connor, Civil War’s Cailee Spaeny, and Daniel Craig, the latter of whom is reprising his role as Benoit Blanc.

Plot details for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery remain under wraps at this time. Rian Johnson is once again returning to write and direct the film, which will soon begin filming.

Johnson previously teased on X regarding Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”

The movie is expected to be released in 2025. Knives Out, which was released in 2019, is currently available to rent or purchase on digital streaming platforms such as Amazon Video and Apple TV, while the second film in the franchise, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is streaming on Netflix.

What movies and shows has Andrew Scott been in?

Scott is known for playing James “Jim” Moriarty alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in BBC’s Sherlock series. He also played The Priest in Amazon Prime Video’s Fleabag and recently starred as the titular character in Netflix’s Ripley.

Regarding previous films, Scott has starred in 2014’s Pride, 2015’s Spectre, 2016’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, 2016’s Handsome Devil, 2019’s 1917, 2022’s Catherine Called Birdy, and 2023’s All of Us Strangers. He’ll soon be seen in Back in Action, a new Netflix movie releasing this November that also stars Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.
