Toynk has revealed a selection of Ghoulies plush toys based on the monstrous characters from the 1985 cult creature feature.
Ghoulies Plush Toys Details
The Fish, Cat, and Rat Ghoulies have been immortalized in fabric and stuffing with 14-inch plush toys that can be ordered in the US from stores such as Target.
Directed by Luca Bercovici, Ghoulies sees a young man, Jonathan Graves (Peter Liapis – Wishmaster), and his girlfriend (Lisa Pelikan – Circle) move into an old mansion home. Once there, Jonathan becomes possessed by a need to control ancient demons, which brings about the titular Ghoulies, a trio of diminutive, mischievous creatures.
Ghoulies Director/Co-Writer Luca Bercovici and Producer/Co-Writer Jefery Levy have obtained the domestic rights to their 1984 B-horror hit and are planning new films.
”Drawing upon their unmatched expertise and unwavering passion, Levy, Bercovici, and Theo Lemasters are set to unveil a series of projects that will keep audiences wallowing in filthy horror fun for many years to come.
The team is expanding the Ghoulies universe beyond the silver screen with a book series that will plunge readers into the darkest depths of the Ghoulies universe.
The Ghoulies series has held a place in my horror-loving heart ever since the VHS cover image of one of the creatures coming out of a toilet spawned very vivid nightmares (that didn’t involve toilets, thankfully) for me as a child. I didn’t end up liking the film, though, sadly, but I’m very tempted to get a Fish Ghoulie plush in all the same.
