The Invisible Man 2 Update Given by Elisabeth Moss: ‘I Feel Very Good About It’

Elisabeth Moss has given an update regarding The Invisible Man 2.

Speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Moss was asked if the creative team behind 2020’s The Invisible Man had “cracked” an idea for a sequel.

“Here is me trying to craft a response,” Moss answered. “We are, I would say — and by we, I mean Blumhouse and my production company. Leigh [Whannell] is doing Wolf Man. We are closer than we have ever been to cracking it. I feel very good about it. We are very much intent on continuing that story, for sure.”

Moss has spoken about a potential The Invisible Man 2 before. She said in 2020, via Bloody Disgusting, “Look, if people want it that’s kind of a big part of what we need in order to do it. So put the word out there that YOU want it and then I’ll help!”

In July 2020, The Hollywood Reporter stated that Whannell was working on a sequel to The Invisible Man. It’s not immediately clear how much involvement Whannell will have with the film, as he’s currently filming Wolf Man with Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, Sam Jaeger, and Matilda Firth. Wolf Man is scheduled to be released in United States theaters on January 17, 2025.

What was The Invisible Man about?

“After staging his own suicide, a crazed scientist uses his power to become invisible to stalk and terrorize his ex-girlfriend,” the synopsis for the 2020 movie reads. “When the police refuse to believe her story, she decides to take matters into her own hands and fight back.”

Directed by Whannell, The Invisible Man starred Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Harriet Dyer, and Michael Dorman alongside Moss. The script, which is based on H. G. Wells’ 1897 novel, was also written by Whannell.

The Invisible Man is currently streaming on Amazon Video’s Freevee.
