Having already got a warmup for stalking Madelaine Petsch and Froy Guitierrez by creeping about SXSW, The Strangers have now been spotted on the hunt at Coachella.
Renny Harlin’s The Strangers Chapter 1 is out soon, and as promotion for it ramps up, the titular characters seem more likely to show up out and about, just silently watching and waiting.
Coachella kicked off last weekend in California with artists such as No Doubt, Lana Del Ray, Blur, Hatsune Miku, Ice Spice, Sabrina Carpenter, Taking Back Sunday, and Tyler the Creator performing at the festival, which has a second weekend from today until Sunday, April 21, 2024.
You can see where The Strangers were spotted last weekend in the images below. I haven’t been able to confirm if they found new inspiration for tormenting people after watching Grimes’ set.
The Strangers Stalk Coachella
The official synopsis reads, ”From master director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2, The Exorcist: The Beginning) comes a new trilogy of terror. In Chapter I, Madelaine Petsch (TV’s “Riverdale”) stars as a young woman starting a new life with her fiancé. Suddenly, during a road trip stop in a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a mysterious gang of masked strangers who attack without warning or reason. What begins as a fight to stay alive becomes one woman’s journey of courage and cunning in this horror series bridging three compelling films.”
The Strangers Chapter 1 is written by Alan R. Cohen & Alan Freedland and directed by Renny Harlin. it stars Madelaine Petsch and Froy Guitierrez, Gabriel Basso, Ema Horvath.
The Strangers Chapter 1 is available in theaters on May 17, 2024.
