Annabelle Wallis is joining the cast of Mercy, a sci-fi thriller from Amazon MGM Studios starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson.
According to a report from Variety, the movie is set to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted), from a script written by Marco van Belle. The film will be set in the near future and follow a storyline of a society where “capital crime has increased,” and “follows a detective (Pratt) who is accused of a violent crime and forced to prove his innocence.”
Wallis is best known for her role on the hugely popular BBC/Netflix series Peaky Blinders, where she starred in Grace Burgess. She also starred in the 2021 film Malignant, as well as 2021’s Silent Night. Most recently, she’s set to star in the 2024 independent drama film The Silence of Mercy.

Bekmambetov is also known for directing 2006’s Day Watch, 2012’s highly underrated Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, 2016’s Ben-Hur, and more.
Pratt has also worked with Amazon MGM Studios before, as he starred in The Tomorrow War, which was released on Prime Video in 2021. He also headlines the streaming service’s The Terminal List television series.
Charles Roven, one of the Oscar-winning producers of Oppenheimer, will produce Mercy with Atlas Entertainment SVP Robert Amidon. Additional producers include Majd Nassif and Bekmambetov, who will produce under his BEL banner.
