A Watch Dogs movie based on the Ubisoft series of video games has been revealed, alongside the film’s lead actress.
Deadline has revealed that a Watch Dogs movie is in the works with Talk to Me star Sophie Wilde set to lead. The film is set in the universe of the Watch Dogs game series, which is made up for 2014’s Watch Dogs, 2016’s Watch Dogs 2, and 2020’s Watch Dogs: Legion, as well as multiple expansions.
Little is know about the plot of the Watch Dogs film at this point,. The games typically follow a hacker or a group of hackers who use the expansive central Operating System network (also called ctOS) to obtain information and control electronics in order to take on corrupt organizations and villainous individuals.
French filmmaker Mathieu Turi is set to direct the video game movie from an original screenplay from Oxygen writer Christie LeBlanc and revised by Victoria Bata. The film will be produced by New Regency Pictures’ Natalie Lehmann and Yariv Milchan as well as Ubisoft Film & Television’s Margaret Boykin.
