Universal Pictures announced the Lisa Frankenstein digital release date on Monday, confirming that the Zelda Williams directed horror comedy is set to arrive this week.
Lisa Frankenstein will be available exclusively on digital platforms to own or rent beginning tomorrow, February 27, 2024. Fans will be able to check out the film on various digital storefronts.
The movie was released in theaters on February 9, 2024, which marks a surprisingly quick turnaround for the film to arrive digitally. Lisa Frankenstein stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse and is set in the same fictional universe as Jennifer’s Body, which is also written by Diablo Cody.
What is Lisa Frankenstein about?
“The film is about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse,” reads the synopsis. “After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.”
Described as a coming of “rage love story,” Lisa Frankenstein is directed by Williams from a script written by Oscar winner Diablo Cody. Joining Sprouse and Newton are Carla Gugino (The Haunting of Hill House), Liza Soberano (Alone/Together), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things), and Henry Eikenberry (The Crowded Room).
