Keke Palmer has joined the cast of Good Fortune, a new comedy movie directed by Aziz Ansari.
Lionsgate has announced that Palmer will join Seth Rogen, Keanu Reeves, and Ansari in Good Fortune, which marks Ansari’s directorial debut and is now in production.
“Keke is a delight to work with. I’m so happy she’s a part of our cast and even more excited to provide a quote for this press release announcing her casting,” Ansari said of Palmer’s casting.
Ansair also wrote the screenplay for Good Fortune and produced the movie alongside Anthony Katagas and Alan Yang. He also serves as an executive producer with Jonathan McCoy.
Palmer’s role in the film is being kept under wraps. Plot details are also not being disclosed at this time.
What has Keke Palmer been in?
Palmer made her professional acting debut in 2004 with Barbershop 2: Back in Business. She went on to star in 2006’s Akeelah and the Bee, 2006’s Madea’s Family Reunion, 2007’s Cleaner, and 2008’s The Longshots, before she was then tapped to play True Jackson in Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, sitcom, which ran from 2008 to 2011.
She continued working with Nickelodeon on the 2011-2014 Winx Club revival, as she voiced the character Aisha, and starred in the 2021 Nickelodeon Original Movie Rags.
While Palmer additionally voices the character of Peaches in the Ice Age franchise, she debuted as Zayday Williams in Fox’s Scream Queens in 2016. Her other television roles include roles in Berlin Station, Scream: Resurrection, Human Resources, and more, while she also hosted her own talk show, Just Keke, in 2014.
In recent years, Palmer has starred in movies such as 2018’s Pimp, 2019’s Hustlers, 2020’s 2 Minutes of Fame, 2022’s Alice and 2022’s Lightyear. She could last be seen on-screen in Jordan Peele’s Nope, which was released in 2022 and also starred Daniel Kaluuya and Steven Yeun. Following that, she voiced a character in the 2023 animated film Under the Boardwalk.
A release date for Good Fortune has not yet been announced by Lionsgate.
