The cast of the Paramount+ movie Star Trek: Section 31 has expanded just as the film’s production has officially begun.
Variety has reported that Omari Hardwick, Robert Kazinsky, Kacey Rohl, James Hiroyuki Liao, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, and Humberly Gonzalez have all joined Michelle Yeoh on the cast of the Star Trek film, which also began production today.
“And we’re off to the races! Thrilled to report principal photography has started on Star Trek: Section 31,” executive producer Alex Kurtzman stated. “We welcome our incredible cast of new characters as they join our beloved Michelle Yeoh on her next wild adventure across the Trek universe.”

Star Trek: Section 31 is being directed and executive produced by Olatunde Osunsanmi from a screenplay written by Craig Sweeny. The Everything Everywhere All at Once star is reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, who fans last saw in Star Trek: Discovery.
It is executive produced by Yeoh, Sweeny, Alex Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers, Rod Rodenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa, and John Weber. It is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
