According to Deadline, black-ish star Anthony Anderson, Marvel vet Clark Gregg, and The Boys breakout Antony Starr have been tapped to join the G20 cast for Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming action thriller movie.
Rounding out the ensemble cast are Marsai Martin, Ramón Rodríguez, Douglas Hodge, Elizabeth Marvel, Sabrina Impacciatore, Clark Gregg, Christopher Farrar, John Hoogenakker, MeeWha Alana Lee, Theo Bongani Ndyalvane, Conrad Kemp, Joseph Steven Yang, Emmanuel Castis, David James, Noxolo Dlamini, and Gideon Emery. They will be joining Oscar winner Viola Davis, who will be playing the U.S. president.
What to expect in G20?
“In the film, after the G20 Summit gets overtaken by terrorists, American president Taylor Sutton must bring all her statecraft and military experience to defend her family, her fellow leaders, and, of course, the world,” reads the synopsis.
G20 will be directed by Patricia Riggen from a screenplay written by Noah and Logan Miller with revisions from Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss. The action thriller was originally slated to start production last year, but was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA. Even though the project received an Interim Agreement, filming didn’t pushed through after Davis refused to act during the actors’ strike in solidarity with other others.
The film is produced by Davis and Julius Tennon of JuVee Productions, along with Andrew Lazar of Mad Chance. It is a production by Amazon MGM Studios and MRC Film.
