June Squibb is joining the voice cast of Pixar’s Inside Out 2.
Per Variety, Squibb has officially been tapped to play a role in the upcoming sequel to 2015’s Inside Out, Inside Out 2. Whether Squibb will be voicing one of the new emotions that will be introduced in the forthcoming film or a human character has not been revealed at this time.
Squibb made her feature film acting debut in 1990 with Woody Allen’s Alice. She earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 2013’s Nebraska, which was directed by Alexander Payne. Squibb has also starred in 1993’s The Age of Innocence, 1998’s Meet Joe Black, 2002’s About Schmidt, 2020’s Palm Springs, and 2020’s Hubie Halloween, among others.
She’s also voiced characters in a handful of other Pixar and Disney movies, including 2018’s Ralph Breaks in Internet, 2019’s Toy Story 4, and 2020’s Soul.
What is Inside Out 2 about?
“Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone,” the synopsis reads.
Inside Out 2’s voice cast also includes Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, and Maya Hawke as Anxiety. The movie is directed by Kelsey Mann, with the screenplay having been written by Meg LeFauve.
Inside Out 2 releases in the United States on June 14, 2024 from Pixar. Inside Out, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Disney+.
