The first trailer for Abigail, a new horror comedy from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (also known as Radio Silence), has been released.
Shared on Universal Pictures’ YouTube page, the first trailer for Abigail previews a new horror comedy starring Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, and Kathryn Newton. The footage sees a group of criminals kidnap a young girl for a sizable ransom; however, things take a turn when they realize the girl is actually a vampire who intends to kill each and every one of them.

What is Radio Silence’s Abigail about?
“Children can be such monsters. After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight,” the official synopsis reads. “In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”
Abigail is written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick. Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are known for directing 2019’s Ready or Not with Samara Weaving, 2022’s Scream, and 2023’s Scream VI, among other titles.
Along with Barrera (who stars in Radio Silence’s Scream movies), Stevens (Legion), and Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), Abigail stars Alisha Weir (Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical), William Catlett (Black Lightning), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Angus Cloud (Euphoria), and Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul).
Producers include William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, James Vanderbilt, Tripp Vinson, and Chad Villella, while Ron Lynch and Macdara Kelleher serve as executive producers.
Abigial releases in United States theaters on April 19, 2024, from Universal Pictures.
