The acclaimed animated superhero sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is getting a limited rerelease in IMAX theaters later this month.
Writer and producer Christopher Miller posted to Twitter revealing that Across the Spider-Verse will return to IMAX theaters for a limited release on Friday, January 19. In the tweet, Miller said this will allow you to “see the jaw-dropping level of detail & innovation lovingly put into every frame.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Issa Rae, Jake Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Karan Soni, Greta Lee, Shea Whigham, Mahershala Ali, Amandla Stenberg, Jharrel Jerome, Andy Samberg, Jack Quaid, and Rachel Dratch.
It was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, with a script from Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Dave Callaham.
What happens in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?
“After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence,” reads the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse synopsis. “However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders. He must soon redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”
