Lionsgate announced on Monday that it would be releasing the 1988 Western action film Young Guns in 4K Ultra HD later this year.
When does the Young Guns 4K SteelBook release?
The Young Guns 4K release date has been set for December 5, 2023, when the film will release on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. The movie will come packaged on a SteelBook, and will also have a special Best Buy exclusive release. That version includes a different SteelBook, as well as some physical items like a poster and playing cards with characters from the film on them.
The national 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital bundle will cost $34.99, while the Best Buy exclusive version will cost $37.99. The new version of the film will include a brand-new transfer featuring Dolby Vision HDR. Included will be a new Dolby Atmos audio mix as well the original 2.0 stereo original theatrical mix.
Originally released in 1988, Young Guns stars Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Charlie Sheen, Dermot Mulroney, and Casey Siemaszko. The film is a retelling of the adventures of Billy the Kid during the Lincoln County War. The movie also saw a sequel released in 1990.
