Netflix has finally set the release date for DreamWorks Animation‘s forthcoming animated special The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday, which serves as a prequel to its hit 2022 heist comedy.
In addition, the first official photos for The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday have also been revealed. They feature the titular outlaws as they unexpectedly try to save the city’s Christmas. The film will be available for streaming on November 30.
What to expect in The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday?
“There’s nothing the Bad Guys love more than Christmas morning,” reads the synopsis, “because while everyone is home opening presents, it’s the perfect time to execute their city-wide holiday heist. But when Christmas is unexpectedly canceled, the Bad Guys must do the unthinkable: reignite the city’s holiday spirit by giving instead of taking.”
The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday is directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Bret Haaland, with Katherina Nolfi serving as the executive producer. Even though the special takes place before the events of the 2022 film, the original voice cast led by Sam Rockwell and Awkwafina won’t be reprising their roles.
The prequel will instead feature the voices of Michael Godere as Wolf, Ezekiel Ajeigbe as Shark, Raul Ceballos as Piranha, Chris Diamantopoulos as Snake, Mallory Low as Tarantula, Zehra Fazal as Tiffany Fluffit, and more.
