Deadline is reporting that Alec Baldwin and Stephen Dorff are set to star in the action thriller Cold Deck. The indie feature completed principal photography before the SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14.
The official synopsis reads: “A team of loggers stumble upon a meth cook site deep in the forest and find themselves in a fight for survival as they’re hunted down by a drug cartel.”
What to Expect in Cold Deck?
Besides Baldwin and Dorff, Cold Deck’s cast includes Lucy Martin, Jesse Metcalfe, Lochlyn Munro, Clive Standen, and Tom Welling.
Cold Deck is directed by Brian Skiba (Pursuit) and produced by Corey Large (Apex) from a script written by Joe Perruccio and Eric Bromberg. Executive producers include Ram Getz, Michael Mortensen, Stephanie Rennie, and Kirk Shaw. 30 Enterprises and Chinese financier Pink308 are financing the film.
In April 2023, Baldwin was cleared of all charges stemming from the Rust shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin returned to the set that same month to finish shooting his scenes, and production concluded in May 2023. This year, Baldwin has appeared in Supercell and 97 Minutes, with the latter arriving on Hulu in September.
Dorff’s recent credits include the recurring role of Vance Simkins in Season 3 of The Righteous Gemstones, an enforced named Clayton Minor in Mob Land, and Colonel Clarence T. Bishop in Dead Man’s Hand. Dorff’s next film, Divinity, which premiered at Sundance, arrives in theaters in October.
