If you were ever curious to see Silence of the Lambs serial killer Buffalo Bill’s house but would prefer to leave alive then you are in luck next month.
Yes, for a short time, you can tour the home used as the abode for Silence of the Lambs’ other notorious killer and you can even find Catherine Martin in the basement as actor Brooke Smith will be attending the tours.
The home has been opened up by the owner Charles Rowan for 90-minute tours between September 22 through to September 24, 2023, at a cost of $125. Brooke Smith will pose for photographs and sign autographs on the tours as well. A VIP option includes Brooke in costume and photo opportunities in the basement.
No Lotion or Hose Required
The tour is an access-all-areas deal so you’re able to roam everywhere and anywhere on the expansive property and its grounds. So you can really get a feel for that intense finale of the film where Clarice Starling enters the house in search of Catherine. You can book tickets here.
Rowan said in a statement announcing the tour, “It is a film enthusiast’s dream come true to have Brooke Smith, who played the seminal role of Catherine Martin, the captured victim in The Silence of the Lambs, return to Buffalo Bill’s House for the very first time since shooting the film on location over thirty years ago.”
Silence of the Lambs was the second attempt to bring cannibal killer Hanibal Lecter to the screen after Brian Cox in Michael Mann’s Manhunter. Anthony Hopkins scared up a storm in the role, but it was Ted Levine’s turn as Buffalo Bill that drove the film’s scariest and most intense moments.
