Deadpool 3 actor Karan Soni says the new movie won’t feel different from the first two.
The third movie in the Deadpool series starring Ryan Reynolds will be the first one set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU has made exclusively PG-13 movies so far, while the Deadpool movies have been rated R for their language, violence, and sexual material. As this is the first time a Deadpool movie has been set in Disney’s relatively clean MCU, some may wonder if the movie will feel different from the hard-R 20th Century Fox movies.
Soni, who portrays Deadpool’s taxi driver in the first two movies, told ComicBook.com, “I have begun working on that one, so I can say that it is the same as the other two. It’s like hard R. There’s a lot of that stuff. So it does not feel different. The only thing that, for me, is different is that I have not gotten the script this time. The other two, we did get it, it’s a big difference, at least for me, the MCU part of it vs. the Fox/Marvel part of it. They’re so strict. So I’ve only seen glimpses of what I’m in.”
Soni recently portrayed Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India in another Marvel project, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
