Actress Margot Robbie has been having conversations with Mattel about Barbie 2.
Life in plastic is fantastic with the upcoming Warner Bros. fantasy comedy movie Barbie. This film stars Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, and a ginormous cast of famous faces all directed by Greta Gerwig. “After being expelled from Barbieland for being a less-than-perfect doll, Barbie and Ken set off to the real world to find true happiness,” reads the film’s logline.
According to TIME, Robbie has been involved in conversations about more Barbie movies. “It could go a million different directions from this point,” she says. “But I think you fall into a bit of a trap if you try and set up a first movie whilst also planning for sequels.”
Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz adds, “We’re looking to create movies that become cultural events. If you can excite filmmakers like Greta and Noah to embrace the opportunity and have creative freedom, you can have a real impact.”
What is the Barbie movie runtime?
