A Death Stranding movie is in the works from Kojima Productions and Hammerstone Studios. According to creator Hideo Kojima, he’ll be very involved in the project.
What will Hideo Kojima do for the Death Stranding movie?
In a recent tweet, Kojima revealed he would be “deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design and content” of the upcoming film. He will not, however, direct the project. This comes after Kojima also revealed he would have a supervisory role over the film.
Currently, it’s unclear who will write or direct the project. At the time of last year’s announcement, it was reported the film would introduce new ideas and characters into the world of Death Stranding. In previous interviews on the project, Kojima has also confirmed that the movie will have more of an “arthouse” feel to it.
Death Stranding was originally released in 2020, and starred Norman Reedus in the role of Sam Porter Bridges, a courier who is tasked with delivering supplies to isolated colonies across Earth. The game also featured Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Troy Baker, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Lindsay Wagner.
