The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts box office is off to a strong start compared to its predecessors.
The seventh Transformers movie earned $8.8 million at the domestic box office in Thursday previews. This beats out the Thursday night previews for 2018’s Bumblebee, the most recent Transformers movie. That film, which rebooted the franchise and starred Hailee Steinfeld in the lead role, earned a mere $2.85 million in Thursday night previews, leading to a franchise-low $21.6 million opening weekend.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is also grossing higher than Michael Bay’s last Transformers film, 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight. That film grossed $8.1 million in previews and had a $44.68 million opening weekend. With box office projections predicting the new Transformers will earn $50-60 million, it appears the Transformers franchise is rolling out to box office success.
However, the film will be going up for box office numbers against Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in the superhero film’s second weekend. Only time will tell to see how the new film about Autobots performs.
Does Transformers: Rise of the Beasts have an end-credits scene?
Yes, there is one after-credits scene in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
“Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet,” reads the film’s synopsis. “When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth.”
The film stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, with voice performances from Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Peter Dinklage, Ron Perlman, and of course, Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. It is now playing in theaters.
