The Vacation Friends 2 release date has been made official for the upcoming sequel to Hulu’s 2021 buddy comedy film.
The streamer revealed that the Vacation Friends 2 release date will be August 25, 2023. The sequel will once again star John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, and Meredith Hagner, who will return alongside a litany of new stars, including Carlos Santos, Ronny Chieng, Jamie Hector and Steve Buscemi. The movie is directed by Clay Tarver, who also directed the original film.
According to Hulu, the movie picks up a few months after the end of the original Vacation Friends, and sees the newly married couple of Marcus (Howery) and Emily (Orji) inviting their best friends Ron (Cena) and Kyla (Hagner) to join them on vacation to an all-expenses-paid trip to a Caribbean resort.
“His reason for traveling there in the first place is to meet with the owners of the resort to bid on a construction contract for a hotel they own in Chicago,” reads the official synopsis. “But when Kyla’s incarcerated father Reese (Buscemi) is released from San Quentin and shows up at the resort unannounced at the worst possible moment, things get out of control, upending Marcus’ best laid plans and turning the vacation friends’ perfect trip into total chaos.”
Vacation Friends 2 will release exclusively on Hulu on August 25, 2023 in the United States, and will be available on Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories.
