Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Katy O’Brian has revealed that iconic actor Bill Murray originally had a larger role in the Marvel Studios sequel.
While speaking with Inverse, O’Brian spoke about how her character, Jentorra, originally had more scenes with Murray’s character, Lord Krylar. Rather than being eaten by a monster fairly early in the film, Krylar was originally going to follow the main characters and seemingly get sent to jail by Kang, where he’d interact with Jentorra.
“I had a couple fight scenes that got cut out and there were a couple moments with Bill Murray,” O’Brian explained. “Instead of just getting killed, he did a whole space pursuit with them and then wound up with Kang and got arrested or something. It was a lot. It would’ve been like a three-hour movie.
“They took him to jail and then he had some really cute little jail clips, and then I helped bust him out, and then he pretends that he’s with me the whole time and ready to fight. And I’m like, ‘Bro, come on.'”
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was once again directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness.
“Super Heroes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.”
