Focus Features has finally announced the full Drive-Away Dolls cast for Ethan Coen‘s upcoming solo directorial feature film.
It has been confirmed that Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian), Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart), Bill Camp (The Queen’s Gambit), and Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead) are joining the Drive-Away Dolls cast. They join leading stars Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan in Coen’s upcoming road trip comedy.
In addition, Oscar winner Matt Damon has also joined the cast, which reunites him with Coen after previously working together in 2017’s black comedy Suburbicon, which was written by award-winning sibling duo Joel and Ethan Coen. The upcoming movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 22, 2023.
Drive-Away Dolls is co-written by Ethan Cohen and his wife Tricia Cooke, who are both executive producing. Robert Graf, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner are producing the comedy caper. It hails from Focus Features and Working Title.
“It follows Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian who desperately needs to loosen up,” reads the synopsis. “In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.”
The Coen brothers are best known for their acclaimed works such as Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading, True Grit, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. Their decades-long collaboration has resulted in a number of accolades, including six Academy Award wins for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
