Rob Zombie’s iconic horror film House of 1000 Corpses is turning 20 in 2023, and to celebrate the film’s history, a brand-new Blu-ray premium box set are releasing on April 11, 2023.
The new box set will consist of two discs, one of which contains the film along with director commentary from Rob Zombie, a making-of-featurette, casting footage, rehearsal footage, cast and crew interviews, and the theatrical trailer for the movie.
The second disc is filled with other bonus features, including interviews with the cast and director, as well as a variety of behind-the-scenes features.
Along with the two discs, the box set also comes housed in an illustrated outerbox with artwork by Graham Humphreys, and also includes an illustrated poster by David Hartman, a photo book curated by Rob Zombie, and six illustrated art cards depicting various members of the film. For those not looking to pick up the box set, a special edition steelbook exclusive to Best Buy will also be available.
Originally released in 2003, House of 1000 Corpses is the beginning of Zombie’s Firefly film series and tells the story of a group of teenagers who are hunted by a psychotic family. The film is heavily inspired by 1970s horror films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. Since its release, the film has become a cult classic and has even gotten so popular that it’s been developed into a haunted house attraction for Universal Studios.
