The Marvels Merch Reveals First Look at New Costumes

Not too much is known about The Marvels, the upcoming sequel to Captain Marvel. However, a new batch of promo art does give fans its first look at some of the costumes that the three starring superheroes will use.

While Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel costume has been seen in a Ms. Marvel post-credits scene and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel costume was seen throughout her Disney+ show, it was unknown what Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau would be wearing in the film.

The first look at her costume comes courtesy of new merchandise for the film, which shows off all three superheroes posing in their new suits on a pillow. You can check out the new look at Parris’ costume below:

As fans can see, Parris’ Monica Rambeau will be suited up for the first time, in a costume that is very similar to her comic book character’s look. Her suit sports a black and white design, with a logo similar to Captain Marvel’s placed right in the center of it. After she gained superpowers in WandaVision, not too much has been said or seen involving Rambeau’s character, so it will be interesting to see how she fits into the upcoming film.

The Marvels will see the return of Oscar winner Brie Larson as she reprises her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, who fans last saw in Ms. Marvel‘s post-credits scene. Joining Larson in the sequel are WandaVision breakout star Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, who had her own Disney+ series earlier this year.

The sequel is being directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman), from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell. Additional cast also includes English actress Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw) as the sequel’s antagonist and popular South Korean actor Park Seo-joon in an undisclosed role.

Captain Marvel made its debut in 2019 where it went on to earn a worldwide gross of over $1.1 billion, making it the fifth-highest grossing film of that year. It also starred Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, who are both set to star in their own Disney+ series Secret Invasion.

The Marvels will hit the theaters on July 28, 2023, as part of the MCU’s Phase Four.
