The John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina is gaining a familiar face as Lionsgate has closed a deal for Anjelica Huston to reprise her role as the Director, who is the head of the Ruska Roma. She’ll star opposite Ana de Armas in the movie.
This announcement comes after news broke earlier this month that Keanu Reeves’ titular assassin and Ian McShane’s Winston would return in the film. “The idea of Ballerina was formed around the scenes with Anjelica in John Wick 3,” said producer Erica Lee. “Anjelica Huston is an icon and is nothing less than Hollywood royalty. The world of Wick is always made richer by her commanding screen presence.”

The project was first announced in 2019, following the theatrical debut of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which gives us our first look at the Ballerina assassins who are being trained by the Ruska Roma syndicate led by Anjelica Huston’s character.
Ballerina focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. It will be directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay written by Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead). The movie will be overseen by James Myers for Lionsgate. The spin-off is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves, and Chad Stahelski.
