It has been confirmed that iconic actor Harrison Ford will be appearing in Captain America: New World Order, marking his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ford will play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross — taking on the role following the passing of William Hurt, who played Ross in previous Marvel films like The Incredible Hulk and, most recently, Black Widow. Ford has starred in enormous franchises like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, so it’s not too surprising that he’s making an appearance in the MCU. Ford is set to star alongside Anthony Mackie, who took on the mantle of Captain America in Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Ross’ role in the fourth Captain America film is unclear. In the comics, Ross becomes Red Hulk — a powerful antagonist to Bruce Banner and his Hulk alter-ego. Whether or not Ford’s take on Ross will end up becoming the Red Hulk is currently unknown.

The film will be directed by Julius Onah. It will be penned by Malcolm Spellman, who was the creator and head writer of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Dalan Musson, who also worked on the Disney+ series.
