According to Deadline, Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (Knives Out), Boyd Holbrook (The Sandman), and Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) have officially joined New Regency’s forthcoming drama The Bikeriders, which hails from acclaimed filmmaker Jeff Nichols. This marks the latest collaboration between Shannon and Nichols after previously working together on Take Shelter.

The Bikeriders is inspired by Danny Lyon’s 1967 photography book of the same name. It is an original story that takes place in the 1960s. The film follows the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. It will be led by Emmy winner Jodie Comer, Oscar nominee Tom Hardy, and Elvis breakout Austin Butler.
“Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life,” reads the synopsis.

The film will be directed and produced by Nichols. Producers are Tri-State’s Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, with Fred Berger executive producing.
