Roberts will join an already star-studded cast featuring Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isbalea Merced, and Tahar Rahim. The upcoming film will be directed by S.J. Clarkson, with a script penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Currently, it’s unclear who Roberts will play, and Sony has had no official comments on the casting.
Roberts’ last film role came in 2020’s The Hunt and Holidate, although she is set to star in the upcoming film Abandoned. Roberts is best known for her time on the American Horror Story series, which saw her star in nearly every season of the series beginning with American Horror Story: Coven.
Sony’s Madame Web will be led by Dakota Johnson as the titular Spider-Man character. Joining Johnson are young actresses Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), and Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight) along with Golden Globe nominee Tahar Rahim.
Created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. in 1980, Madame Web is a blind psychic that has become a major player in the world of Spider-Man due to her ties to “The Great Web,” a multiversal construct that ties all “Spider” characters together across the multiverse.
