Last month, it was revealed that Paramount Pictures had plans to release a new entry in the hit horror franchise The Ring. The project, titled The Ring 3D, now appears to have attracted the attention of screenwriter Akiva Goldsman. Deadline has the news, reporting that the Academy Award-winning scribe will rewrite the current draft by David Loucka.
F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) is directing The Ring 3D, which will reportedly feature the return of Samara and a new ominous video tape.
Goldsman, who recently made his directorial debut with A Winter’s Tale earlier this year, previously tackled big screen horror with I Am Legend, directed by Francis Lawrence.
