New footage of Paul Rudd filming what looks to be a scene from the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has appeared, showcasing Rudd in what looks to be some sort of musical scene.

The footage was released on Instagram, and shows Rudd walking down a sidewalk and what looks to be singing to himself or simply saying hello to everyone he passes while the song “Welcome Back” by John Sebastian plays, which is the iconic theme song for the television series Welcome Back, Kotter. While it’s unclear where in the film this takes place, many are theorizing that it might open the film to re-introduce Rudd.

While Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania wrapped principal photography last year, this could be the crew getting some reshoots in, or perhaps just footage that wasn’t released until now.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 28, 2023. Its theatrical release date currently pits the film against no direct competition. In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will once again share top billing as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp, respectively. They were both last seen by fans during Avengers: Endgame. The film will also feature the return of Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer as they reprise their roles as Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. It’s still unclear if Michael Peña’s fan-favorite Luis and David Dastmalchian’s Kurt would also be back for the sequel as well. The third installment will also introduce MCU newcomer Kathryn Newton (The SocietyFreaky) as she now takes over the role of Cassie Lang, a character previously portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson in the first Ant-Man films and Emma Fuhrmann in EndgameLovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors have also been cast as Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror, while Ghostbusters star Bill Murray is also expected to appear for an undisclosed role.
