Fandom was shocked back in May when news broke that “Cornetto Trilogy” mastermind Edgar Wright had departed the long-gestating Marvel Studios release, Ant-Man. Today, Deadline reports that, while a visit to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is no longer in the cards for him, Wright has found his next feature project in Baby Driver.
Baby Driver was actually announced way back in 2008 as part of a two-picture deal with Working Title Films. Wright already released the other picture, last year’s The World’s End, and all we currently know about Baby Driver is that it offers, “a wild spin on the action and crime genre which will be set in the US.” Wright will also be providing the screenplay.
Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing alongside Nira Park.
