Christopher Alender’s horror film The Old Ways is currently streaming on Netflix, and by all accounts, it’s a stunning success with a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
One of the film’s key traits is Ben Lovett’s creepy, atmospheric score, and if you need proof, have a listen to this exclusive track from the score titled “Vas a Ver” ahead of its August 27 digital release.

“Artistically I enjoy taking instruments commonly associated with specific forms of music and employing them in a different context from how they are traditionally used,” said Lovett. “The contrasting elements in The Old Ways score juxtapose the two conflicting internal worlds of our character, who feels disconnected from her heritage while recognizing it is still a foundational part of her.”
