The Dallas Buyers Club helmer Jean-Marc Vallée appears to have found his next leading man. Variety reports that Prisoners star Jake Gyllenhaal is eyeing a leading role in Vallée’s next film, the recently-announced Demolition.
Demolition, which began as a Black List screenplay by Bryan Sipe, would star Gyllenhaal as an investment banker whose life begins to unravel following the tragic loss of his wife. His destructive path begins to turn around, however, after a chance encounter with a stranger.
Mr. Mudd’s Russell Smith is attached to produce alongside Lianne Halfon and John Malkovich. Jason Reitman, Helen Estabrook and Nathan Ross will executive produce.
