According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy-winning actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has officially signed for the leading role in Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary’s upcoming dystopian crime thriller titled By All, with Creed II director Steve Caple Jr. attached to helm. The outlet notes that Legendary is developing the project in hopes of starting a potential new franchise with it.
Both Abdul-Mateen and Caple are currently in production for their respective high-profile projects with the Watchmen actor reprising his role as Black Manta in the Aquaman sequel, and Caple directing a new Transformers movie, Rise of the Beasts for Paramount Pictures.

By All centers around the aftermath of a tragic event. It follows Donte, a man struggling to make ends meet who is forced to go on the run in a world without police, where justice is crowd-sourced.
Tony Rettenmaier is writing the film, which is based on his short story of the same name. Caple, Rettenmaier, Juel Taylor, and Legendary’s Mary Parent & Alex Garcia, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein & Eric Robinson are producing. Jennifer Levine is the executive producer.

Besides Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Abdul-Mateen will also next be seen in three other high-profile movies such as Nia DaCosta’s Candyman reboot, Matrix 4, and George Miller’s long-in-development Mad Max prequel Furiosa.
