The sequel to 2007’s Enchanted will feature the return of the main cast including Amy Adams as Giselle, Patrick Dempsey as Robert Philip, James Marsden as Prince Edward, and Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine. It will also introduce new villains to the story, which are going to be portrayed Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays.

Disenchanted will reportedly follow Giselle and her family rushing to save the Kingdom of Andalsia from Rudolf’s Malvina Monroe after their fairytale life in the suburbs goes awry. It has also been rumored that Snow White’s seven dwarfs would also be appearing in the sequel.

In addition, newcomer Gabriella Baldacchino has also been tapped for the role of Morgan Philip, a character who appeared as a kid in the first film and was portrayed by Rachel Covey. Joining the main cast are Kolton Stewart, and Oscar Nunez.

Based on original characters by Enchanted writer Bill Kelly, Disenchanted is directed by Adam Shankman. The project has been in development since 2010 with Anne Fletcher previously attached to helm the film. However, the sequel had only been confirmed last December at Disney’s Investor Day.

The first film was directed by Kevin Lima and went on to a worldwide gross of over $340 million against a reported budget of $85 million. It was also well-received by critics and audiences, which earned the film two Golden Globe nominations including Best Actress for Amy Adams.
