Doug Liman, whose sci-fi actioner Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters on June 6, looks to be lining up another science fiction project at Warner Bros. The Hollywood Reporter today brings word that Liman is in talks to direct Railhead, based on the upcoming children’s book by Philip Reeve.
Railhead is said to be set in a futuristic universe linked by portal-traveling space trains. The adventure follows a thief who is tricked into stealing more than he or she bargained for.
Reeve has a number of his books headed to the big screen. Warner Bros. is also developing his Larklight series while his Goblins is in development at Laika.
Railhead is being produced by Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan through Di Novi Pictures.
