Both Kate Hudson (Almost Famous, Wish I Was Here) and Kerry Washington (“Scandal,” Django Unchained) are said to be eyeing roles in director Amma Asante’s latest, a thriller titled Unforgettable that is set up at Warner Bros. Pictures. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, claiming that both stars are in early talks.
According to the outlet, Unforgettable follows a just-married new mother who, settling into her new life, finds that her husband’s ex is working to bring her down.
Washington, who starred recently in Peeples opposite Craig Robinson, is also attached to MGM’s romantic comedy Is He the One, set to be directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday). Hudson, meanwhile, starred this year in Good People opposite James Franco and Omar Sy and can next be seen in Barry Levinson’s Rock the Kasbah alongside Bruce Willis, Zooey Deschanel and Bill Murray.
Asante began her career as an actress, first starring on the long-running British series “Grange Hill.” She made the transition to director with 2004’s A Way of Life (which she also wrote) and, earlier this year, released her sophomore directorial feature, Belle, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw headlining the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle.
Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are set to produce Unforgettable with Racheline Benveniste and Andy Fischel overseeing for Warner Bros.
