Jay Olivia Says Ben Affleck’s Batman Film “Would Have Made Fans Proud”
In an alternate reality, Warner Bros. would have allowed Zack Snyder to complete his “Snyder-verse” which would have paved the way for Ben Affleck’s The Batman. While not a ton is known about the flick, it sounds like Affleck’s take on the character would have been awesome. At least according to Justice League storyboard artist who took to Twitter to reveal that Batfleck’s solo film “would have made fans proud.”

“I was working with [Ben Affleck] personally just prior to him leaving the project and not once did he seem like he didn’t want to be Batman,” Olivia wrote in response to Scott Mendelson’s Tweet claiming Affleck left the project due to a lack of passion. “His version of Batman in his solo movie would have made fans proud.”
Since Zack Snyder’s Justice League is set to debut this year (Hallelujah!), fans are hopeful that Affleck will get his place in the sun. And since Jared Leto appears keen to revisit his version of the Joker, even going so far as to tell Variety that he would love to come back and help David Ayer release his own cut of Suicide Squad, it’s possible we can get the gang back together to complete the original DCEU. Fingers crossed!
In the meantime, Matt Reeves’ The Batman will release on March 4, 2022.
All this “DC Films will have multiple continuities” thing is almost entirely because BATMAN V SUPERMAN messed up so badly that Ben Affleck didn’t want to be Batman anymore and they had to take a secondary route to make a Batman movie that didn’t even end up in the same universe. pic.twitter.com/l1EgxeE56X
