Doug Ellin’s long-awaited feature film based on his popular HBO comedy Entourage is in production and Warner Bros. Pictures has already decided to give it a summer release next year, selecting June 12, 2015 for the return of Vincent Chase and his buddies. That puts the movie right up against another long-awaited return, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World.
At the same time, Warner Bros. has picked a date to release Paul Thomas Anderson’s adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel Inherent Vice, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Josh Brolin, Katherine Waterston and Sasha Pieterse, going with December 12, 2014, putting it right in the middle of this year’s Oscar season.
Nancy Meyers’ next comedy The Intern, which recently cast Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway as its leads, has also been scheduled for September 25, 2015. It will act as decent counter programming for adults to Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 2.
