Billy Bob Thornton has joined the cast of the Entourage movie, The Hollywood Reporter revealed today. The film, now in production, is written and directed by series creator Doug Ellin and features the return of series regulars Jeremy Piven, Scott Caan, Jerry Ferrara, Debi Mazar, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Adrian Grenier.
Thornton, who recently starred in Parkland, will play a cowboy billionaire who becomes a financier on Dracula, the film’s movie within a movie that stars Grenier’s Vinnie Chase. The gang will also have to contend with Thornton’s character’s son (still uncast) who is sent to Los Angeles to monitor his father’s investment.
“Entourage,” executive produced by Mark Wahlberg, ran on HBO for eight seasons from 2004 to 2011 with talks of a movie sequel to the series in the air ever since.
