Jessica Alba to star in Netflix’s newest action-thriller trigger Warning
Coming off from the successes of Mark Wahlberg’s Spenser Confidential and Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction, Variety brings word that Netflix has officially set up their next action-thriller titled Trigger Warning with Golden Globe-nominated actress Jessica Alba attached to lead the film and Indonesian filmmaker Mouly Surya (Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts) serving as the director.

Trigger Warning follows the story of a traumatized veteran who suddenly inherits her grandfather’s bar, and is faced with a moral dilemma after discovering the truth behind his untimely death. According to the outlet’s sources, the streaming service is looking to make this film a potential franchise starter.
The film is written by Josh Olson and John Brancato. In addition to leading the film, Alba will also be serving as an executive producer with Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee set as producers.

Alba is no stranger to the action genre as she previously starred in the first two Fantastic Four films, 2005’s Into the Blue and Sin City. She is currently starring in the second season of Spectrum’s Bad Boys spinoff series L.A.’s Finest opposite Gabrielle Union.
This new deal comes after the streaming service had also picked up two new high-profile projects: the Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt-led action comedy Ball and Chain; the upcoming sequel to the Russo Brothers’ hit action film Extraction; and most recently Mark Wahlberg’s new spy movie Our Man In New Jersey.
