Joe Johnston Eyed for Alien Invasion Film Extinction

Picked up by Good Universe last September, the alien invasion film Extinction is targeting Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnston to helm, according to a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

Details on the plot of Extinction are few, but at the time of the sale, it was likened to both The Sixth Sense and Cloverfield. The latest information suggests that the story follows a man trying to protect his family during an Earth invasion.

Johnston’s credits as a director also include big screen actioners like Jurassic Park III, The Rocketeer and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. He most recently shot a microbudget thriller, Not Safe For Work, which should see release in the near future.

Extinction is being produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman with Alex Young executive producing.
