According to Deadline, Disney+ has officially launched in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland. The streaming platform will launch in France on April 7. Disney+ can be accessed through a range of platforms, including iOS, Android, Amazon, gaming consoles such as Xbox One and via smart TVs including LG and Samsung. In the UK, Sky users can access the Disney+ app through Sky Q.

Disney+ debuted over four months ago in the U.S. and currently has more than 500 films, classic shows, as well as 26 original series and movies, including the first two episodes of the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

As the streaming home for Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and National Geographic, Disney+ delivers high-quality, optimistic storytelling that fans expect from our brands, now available broadly, conveniently, and permanently on Disney+. We humbly hope that this service can bring some much-needed moments of respite for families during these difficult times,” said Kevin Mayer, chairman of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International.

The outlet also shared that some Twitter users were thanking Disney+ for going live in their countries as the UK and other parts of Europe have also been placed on lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
