Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures has bought Jonathan Stokes’ spec script for Murder in the White House with Neal Mortiz and Toby Jaffe set to produce for Original Film.

The script is described as a Knives Out-style whodunnit set inside the White House. The President is murdered during a private dinner, and a female Secret Service agent has till morning to discover which guest is the killer before a peace agreement fails and leads to war.
The outlet notes that Stokes has currently landed four of his scripts on The Blacklist and has made sales to Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal, Sony, Fox, and New Line.

Additionally, Stokes has an original, untitled TV series in the works with Warner Bros., and is in post-production on his feature directorial debut Wildcat, the indie thriller he also wrote. Stokes is also an author who has written seven novels in his Addison Cooke and Thrifty Time Travel Guide series.
