For the first time since making his directorial debut on the acclaimed Keanu Reeves actioner John Wick and directing the trilogy thus far, Chad Stahelski is actively eyeing a new project from producing duo Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (A Quiet Place), according to Deadline.

The film, which is being penned by Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum (Beverly Hills Cop IV), is being described as a “high-concept spin capturing the spirit of the great car movies,” while also featuring a unique relationship at the story’s center.
Form and Fuller are set to produce the project through their Fully Formed Entertainment banner alongside Stahelski through his 87eleven Entertainment banner, while Nemec and Applebaum will produce through their Midnight Radio banner and 87eleven’s Jason Spitz executive producing.
The producing duo founded their banner after parting ways with Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, going on to produce the horror hit A Quiet Place and its highly-anticipated follow-up, which is set to hit theaters on March 20. The two had previously worked with bay on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Amityville Horror remakes, as well as the Ouija and Purge franchises.

Stahelski, formerly a stuntman and second unit director, made his debut with 2014’s John Wick and went on to direct its two critically acclaimed and financially successful follow-ups and is in talks to helm the fourth installment, which is set for a May 21, 2021 release. He signed on to develop a reboot of the Highlander franchise in 2017, with plans to turn it into a trilogy and bring back the iconic music of Queen from the original film, but no word has been given in the years since. He would return to the second unit field for the latest installment in the DCEU, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
Nemec and Applebaum previously worked with the producing duo on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise and are attached to pen the script for the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop IV.
